Earl Richmond began his career underwater, inspired as a youth by the Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, his goal was to become a marine explorer. Scuba diving and underwater filming while in high school followed by degrees in oceanography and photography, Earl established a business in video production, filming a great variety of God’s creatures for television production companies such as National Geographic and the Discovery Channel.
Earl and his wife Kay founded Our World of Oceans dedicated to scientific and conservation education to general audiences and schools through lectured based programs. In 2012 Earl was asked to help lead the Lighthouse Youth Ministry program. “God surely has a plan for us all... even if we don’t always see it coming” “From whales and sharks into the world of youth ministry, hard to explain but it is truly a blessing to share and serve our valley’s youth and their families.” “God has given us compassion and great desire to work with youth to help them first define the character of God and seek to build a life centered in Christ.”
The ability to share in God’s truths and help youth in their path to young adults has been a life changing blessing for both Earl & Kay. Today, Earl serves as the director of Lighthouse, dedicated to growing Christian relationships with youth and their families.
Earl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Oceanography from Humboldt State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography. Earl has lived in the Santa Ynez Valley since 1986 and is actively involved in the community with his wife, Kay, and two children, McKensey & Stephen.
